CLEVELAND, October 22 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen is providing its members with a list of endorsed candidates for both federal and statewide elections for use in the upcoming November 2 elections.

The list is published in a special edition of the “Ties to Washington” newsletter and is based on the endorsements from the various BLET State Legislative Boards. The list is only available online in the password-protected area of the BLET website.

“The purpose of this list is to inform and educate BLET members about the candidates on the ballot on November 2,” BLET Vice President & National Legislative Representative John Tolman said. “When we make these endorsements, the decisions aren’t made lightly. All of these candidates are friends of labor, and have shown us their support by voting favorably on issues of importance to the BLET. We hope that all of them stay true to their words and deeds, and plan to hold them to their commitments to us.”

While the BLET does not tell its members how to vote, the candidates selected by the Vice President & National Legislative Representative and the State Legislative Board Chairmen have been vetted to ensure that they will support the issues that BLET members care about — their quality of life, their safety and their security.

“The lives of BLET members are hectic, but it is important that all BLET members exercise their democratic right to vote, and absentee/early voting is a convenient way to ensure that your voice is heard,” BLET National President Dennis Pierce said. “Be sure to vote on November 1.”

The list of endorsements is intended for use by BLET members only, and is available in the password protected area of the BLET website:
