INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, March 3 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has reached a tentative agreement with the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). Ballots have been mailed to active members of the BLET employed by the PATH who are eligible to vote in the ratification of this agreement.
Ballots are due by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, March 13. The tentative agreement governs rates of pay, benefits and work rules for approximately 175 members.
Members who are eligible and have not received a ratification packet should contact General Committee Secretary-Treasurer Brian Clancy for a replacement ballot.
BLET National President Dennis R. Pierce urged all eligible members to cast their ballots in this most important of union processes. “I encourage all of our PATH Brothers and Sisters to participate in our union democracy by casting their vote in the ratification process,” he said.
In operation for more than 110 years, PATH and its highly-skilled locomotive engineers transport commuters to and from the New Jersey-New York area with annual ridership of more than 82 million passengers.
