INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, June 21 — The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has reached a tentative agreement with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) governing rates of pay and benefits for more than 200 locomotive engineers.

On June 18, 2019, ballots, instructions and a synopsis of the agreement were mailed to active members working for SEPTA. Ballots are due by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Members who have not received a ballot by Tuesday, June 25, should request a replacement by calling the BLET National Division at (216) 241-2630, ext. 222. When connected with the extension, please leave the following information:

• your name, address and phone number;
• the division to which you belong;
• your date of birth; and
• the last four digits of your Social Security number.

E-mail requests for ballots will not be accepted because personal information is required to verify eligibility before a ballot can be issued.

“I encourage every member at SEPTA who is eligible to study this contract proposal, become educated on the issues, and — most importantly — vote,” BLET National President Dennis R. Pierce said.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the regional public transportation system for the Philadelphia area, serving approximately 3.9 million people.
