CLEVELAND, October 13 — BLET National President Don Hahs announced today that long-time BLET employee and honorary BLET member Betty Child has taken a medical leave of absence from her work in the BLET’s National Legislative offices in Washington, D.C.

“Betty has for many years been a valuable asset and a significant contributor to the work of the Brotherhood and the trade union movement,” he said. “We wish her a speedy recovery and an early return to work.”

He went on to say, “We have been informed that well wishers may send cards and offer their thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.”

However, she has asked that no flowers be sent due to her allergies.

“We will continue to keep Betty in our thoughts and prayers,” said
President Hahs.
