HENRY, Neb. — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train carrying coal derailed Saturday afternoon near the Nebraska-Wyoming border.
Railroad spokesman Steve Forsberg said 24 cars near the end of the 128-car train jumped the tracks in the Henry area about 4:30 p.m. MDT. The 128-car train was traveling east from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming.
No injuries were reported.
Forsberg said a cause has not been determined.
Saturday’s derailment was the second involving a BNSF Railway train in Nebraska in recent days. On Thursday night, two cars and two locomotives on another coal train derailed in Lincoln.
