FORT WORTH, Texas — BNSF Logistics, LLC announced today that it has acquired Diversified Freight Logistics, Inc. and Royal Cargo Line (together known as “DFL”), of Grapevine, Texas. DFL is an International Freight Management company with approximately $40 million of revenue in 2007. Specific terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

DFL is known for its exceptional personnel and dedication to each customer’s experience. The newly acquired company will operate as a division of BNSF Logistics known as “BNSF Logistics International,” providing air and ocean import and export (NVOCC, OTI, IAC) and customs brokerage.

“Stretching our services to encompass the International Freight Management spectrum is consistent with our recurring theme of evolving BNSF Logistics according to customer demand. DFL’s operations-focused approach parallels our North American efforts and the company provides an excellent platform for forward growth. We are delighted to find such a quality company,” says Eric Wolfe, vice president and general manager of BNSF Logistics.

Michael Huseby, chief executive officer of DFL, stated, “As a seller, I wanted to ensure my customers remained intact, my employees were treated fairly and the business would be considered a strategic component of the overall combined entity, and that is exactly what I found with BNSF Logistics; I couldn’t be more excited about the future of BNSF Logistics International.”

BNSF Logistics, which is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE: BNI), provides customers with a comprehensive set of supply chain solutions ranging from management and execution of single shipment transactions to daily management of complex distribution and sourcing networks.
