CLOVIS, N.M. — Allegations of hazardous rail yard pollution dating back 20 years have been tentatively settled with a consent decree that awaits only a federal judge’s signature to become final.
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co. agreed to pay more than $450,000 to the state natural resources trustee and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid announced Tuesday.
