DAVENPORT, Iowa — A railroad company has sued in connection with a June 2001 incident in which a barge crashed into a railroad bridge on the Mississippi River, the Des Moines Register reports.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad alleges that the MV Show Me State hit the Crescent Railroad Bridge near Lock and Dam 15, causing more than $3,298 in damage.

The bridge connecting Davenport and Rock Island, Ill., has been struck three times in the last eight years.
