FORT WORTH, Texas — For the seventh year in a row, BNSF Railway celebrates the nation’s truck drivers by hosting events at several BNSF intermodal facilities across the U.S.
During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week an estimated 1,500 truck drivers will be greeted by employees handing out appreciation gifts at BNSF Intermodal facilities in Fort Worth, Texas; Willow Springs, Ill.; Kansas City, Kan.; Stockton, Calif.; and San Bernardino, Calif. In addition to the events, BNSF will send celebration kits to more than 70 of its truckload customers.
“Truck drivers are an important part of the supply chain. By working together, we are able to provide safe, reliable transportation of the products American consumers use every day. This is a small way for BNSF to say thanks,” said Katie Farmer, BNSF vice president, Domestic Intermodal.
BNSF works with more than 80 domestic motor carriers to move in excess of 2 million trailer and container shipments each year across the country. Handling more than 3.9 million international and domestic containers and trailers each year, BNSF is one of the world’s largest intermodal rail carriers.
