ASH GROVE, Mo. — Railroad crews spend several hours today cleaning up spilled diesel fuel from a train derailment in Ash Grove, Missouri.
The Burlington Northern-Santa Fe freight train left the tracks on a rail siding at the MFA plant in Ash Grove.
The wheels of one of three locomotives split the tracks, rupturing the fuel tank. Fire officials say at least 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled before the leak was stopped.
There were no injuries onboard the train – and none of the cars tipped over. The main BNSF line was shut down briefly after the derailment.
