EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — A Union Pacific train derailed Monday near State Bridge after another westbound train rear-ended it.
Ten Union Pacific empty coal cars went off the tracks, said company spokesman Mark Davis.
No injuries were reported.
The other train was owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Company spokesman Steve Forsberg said he didn’t know how fast the train was going at the time of the accident, but the speed limit for that stretch is 25 mph.
The accident remains under investigation, Forsberg said.
