SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The South Dakota Railroad Board meets Wednesday, and its chairman says the board could pass a resolution supporting the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad’s proposed expansion.
Todd Yeaton of Highmore says the railroad board has discussed passing such a resolution. He says board members believe the expansion would be good economic development for the state.
He says cities like Pierre, Brookings and Rochester, Minnesota, have concerns. But Yeaton says it is a way to keep small communities viable.
Yeaton says the board plans to act during a teleconference Wednesday.
