GREAT FALLS, Mont. — No bomb was found Monday evening on an Amtrak train at Browning, but the threat by a Minnesota college student that there was one jolted 140 passengers, who were forced to get off the train in 90 mph winds and drifting snow.

Details of the alleged bomb threat and its consequences were made public for the first time in court papers filed in Glacier County District Court on Wednesday and in interviews with passengers and witnesses.

Deputies had to drive through fields to reach six elderly passengers who couldn’t make the walk in the nasty conditions.

Three passengers were transported to local hospitals because of injuries sustained while getting off the train.
