MONTREAL — Bombardier Transportation said on Tuesday it has won orders worth almost C$234 million ($147 million) in a string of deals in Europe and China.
Reuters reports that the Montreal-based company said it will supply Sweden’s Transitio with 10 two-car electric multiple units in a contract valued at about C$82 million. Deliveries are scheduled to start by the end of 2003.
Bombardier and British manufacturer Brush Traction have won a deal with the Eurotunnel operator to modernize 37 locomotives, a contract worth about C$244 million, with Bombardier’s share approximately C$135 million. The work will run between February 2003 and April 2009. An option exists to upgrade another 14 locomotives.
In Asia, Bombardier has won a contract for the 10-year overhaul of 96 metro cars operated by Shanghai Metro Operation Corporation, worth approximately C$17. Deliveries of the refurbished vehicles will begin in 2002 and end in 2005.
