FRONT ROYAL, Va. — The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, which represents more than 6,500 members working on the nation’s freight railroads in national collective bargaining, issued the following statement today regarding PEB 250 recommendations:

BRS, along with the remaining Rail Unions in the coalition, met with the Carriers via Zoom on Monday, August 22, 2022, to decide if the recommendations, which did not completely address all the issues important to signalmen, could result in a tentative agreement. In-person meetings were held on Thursday and Friday last week in Chicago, Illinois. Our efforts to negotiate based on the PEB recommendations were rejected by the NCCC.

We will continue to provide updates as the end of the cooling-off period is approaching in September. BRS has always had the goal of reaching a voluntary agreement.
