MERCED, Calif. — According to the Merced Sun-Star, the California High-Speed Authority approved a hybrid route for the Merced-to-Fresno route, which is a blend of the Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF tracks. The hybrid route would bypass the towns of Le Grand and Planada.
