NEW YORK — Canadian National Railway Co., one of North America’s largest railroads, spent $450,000 lobbying the U.S. government in the first quarter, according to a disclosure report.
That’s less than the $480,000 it spent in the fourth quarter and the $500,000 it spent in the first quarter last year.
The railroad lobbied the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate and the Transportation Department on issues including antitrust enforcement, short-line railroad infrastructure tax credits, transportation safety, policy and planning.
It also weighed in on border security, transportation efficiency and freight rail infrastructure expansion.
Canadian National Railway is based in Montreal.
