Canadian officials were worried the daily Amtrak train from Seattle might pose a security risk to the 2010 Winter Games because terrorists could use it to detonate a bomb just blocks from the Olympic Village, according to internal government documents obtained by the Vancouver Sun.

No terrorist attacks occurred in Vancouver during the Games.

The use of a commuter train to launch a terrorist attack was just one of several worst-case scenarios laid out in the report, which focused specifically on threats on or near the water.

The report identified the cruise ships and container ships as potential terrorist elements that could have been used as weapons of mass destruction.
