CALGARY — Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd., the country’s second-largest railroad, said third-quarter profit fell to C$161.7 million ($142.9 million).
Net income slid to C$1.02 a share, the Calgary-based company said today in a PR Newswire statement. Profit a year earlier was C$203.6 million, or C$1.27 a share.
The company was expected to earn C$1 a share, the average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial. Thomson doesn’t say what costs or other items may be excluded from its figures.
