SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Trains traveling between Sacramento and the Bay Area should be a bit more on time after Sunday with the completion of track work on the Capitol Corridor line.
The track work has resulted in some late trains since it began June 3. In addition, buses were used to take passengers around the work at times between Martinez and Fairfield.
The Union Pacific track work included the installation of about 40,000 new wood ties, according to the Capitol Corridor’s Web site.
Although the tie-replacement project is expected to be finished Sunday, UP crews will perform cleanup work, which could result in delay.
