PHILADELPHIA, Pa. –- Two people were injured after a car in which they were riding was hit by a SEPTA train in Lansdowne yesterday afternoon.
According to a SEPTA spokesman, the collision occurred around 5 p.m. at Baltimore and Union Avenues. According to authorities, the car’s driver tried to cross the tracks at the same time the train was coming. The two adults in the car, whose names were not released, were sent to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Their conditions were not available. The two children in the car were not injured. No one on the train was injured, officials said.
The R3 train was heading to Media from Philadelphia.
SEPTA officials said the collision was being investigated by the Upper Darby Police Department.
