INDIANAPOLIS — A car struck a freight train on the city’s south side Tuesday night, knocking a couple of the train’s cars off the tracks and causing no serious injuries.
The CSX train was crossing Churchman Avenue near Minnesota Street at no more than 10 mph when the car struck it at about 11:30 p.m., police said.
Information on why the car struck the train wasn’t available. The driver suffered minor injuries, police said.
CSX workers put the derailed cars back on the tracks and moved the train from the intersection by 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
