CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — U.S. carload traffic narrowed its year-over-year deficit last week, with carloads down only 3.1% compared with the same period in 2019, according to the Association of American Railroads. U.S. carload volumes totaled 232,146 for the week ending Saturday, a 3.1% decline from the same period in 2019 but a 1.7% increase sequentially.
