NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Charges have been dropped against three men in connection with an alleged picket-line incident at the Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia Railway last winter.
Leonard John Bourque, 26, of Westville, N.S., and Brendan O’Neill, 23, of New Glasgow, N.S., each faced charges of mischief. A third man, John Roy Logan, 48, of Westville was charged with assault.
Logan and Bourque had each been scheduled to go to trial June 25, the same day O’Neill was due to enter a plea.
But the Crown on Tuesday offered no evidence and all three cases were dismissed.
Police charged the trio after receiving a call from replacement workers last March in the midst of a seven-week strike at the railway.
The replacement workers claimed three strikers were interfering with workers at a street crossing.
