RIVERDALE, Ill.– Emergency crews in Riverdale were on the scene of a reported chemical spill from a rail car early Tuesday.
The chemical spill involved the CSX railroad near 13600 S. Halsted St., according to a Riverdale Police Department dispatcher. The spill happened about 4 a.m.
Riverdale police officers were helping out with traffic control on Halsted Street as of 4:30 a.m., according to the dispatcher.
The Riverdale Fire Department was not available for comment.
