The BLET has reached a tentative agreement with Metra that would provide 93 BLET members with 3.5 percent general wage increases.
The agreement covers BLET members employed by Metra who operate on the Metra-UP Lines and are represented by the Union Pacific Northern Region General Committee of Adjustment. If ratified, wage increases will be applied no later than the second pay period following approval, with retroactive pay to July 1, 2025, issued within 30 days.
Additional information regarding the tentative agreement can be found in the ratification packets mailed to members this week.
Metra is one of the largest commuter rail systems in the United States, serving the six-county Chicago area. It provides service to and from downtown Chicago with 243 stations over 11 routes totaling nearly 500 route miles.
