CHICAGO — Americans of all ages have an ongoing love affair with trains, which isn’t surprising when one considers the role trains have played in our collective history — particularly in Chicago, the nation’s leading railway hub to this day. So it’s fitting that Amtrak chose the Windy City as one of four major locations (the others are New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia) to host its fifth annual National Train Day.
