The village of Frankfort near Chicago has made considerable headway in distributing $2.7 million from Canadian National Railway to reduce noise from CN freight trains, assistant village administrator Rob Piscia reported Monday night.
Piscia said $2.28 million has been spent on 244 of 301 eligible properties, including about $1.4 million for landscaping and $818,302 for window and door soundproofing.
