FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — With the state taking over complete control of the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line from CSX, the MBTA is poised to continue improvements on the line, the state’s top transportation official said Wednesday. The Mass. Department of Transportation and the MBTA announced on Tuesday that the state has finalized one of the last steps of the acquisition of the rails from CSX – the takeover of dispatching services. The move, transportation officials said, creates a number of immediate opportunities for efficiency.
