NEW YORK — Shares of railroads and shippers closed mostly higher Thursday, as the price of oil fell slightly.
The price of light, sweet crude fell 10 cents to settle at $124.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after ranging between $126.64 and $120.75 during the session.
Here’s how major players performed Thursday:
Union Pacific Corp., up $2.05 to $152. The stock hit a new all-time high of $152.38 earlier.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., up 75 cents to $107.93. Shares reached an all-time high of $108.10 earlier.
CSX Corp., up 24 cents to $65.65.
FedEx Corp., down 21 cents to $90.86.
United Parcel Service Inc., up 21 cents to $71.36.
