MONTREAL – Claude Mongeau, CEO of Canadian National Railway Co., urged supply chain partners Wednesday to work more closely together and with the company to deliver better end-to-end transportation services.

“A transportation system is only as strong as its weakest link,” Mongeau told a maritime industry conference in Montreal.

“We’re only as good as our supply chains… each supplier tends to focus on its own performance and it’s time to build a transparent system based on mutual trust and real problem-solving.”

Mongeau said CN has negotiated supply chain collaboration and service agreements with ports and terminal operators in its search for efficiency.

“We can work together to help each container, each carload and each box through the journey…one box at a time, end-to-end, with a new level of reliability.”
