KINGSTON, Ontario — A CN freight train derailed early Wednesday just west of Kingston, Ont., disrupting the morning commute on the Via Rail service between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

The seven-car derailment occurred sometime after 3 a.m. and blocked both of CN’s main rails. There are no reported injuries.

Via Rail said it has arranged for buses to transport all passengers to their destination until the lines reopen.

A Via Rail spokeswoman said the company is waiting for CN to confirm when they expect the tracks to be cleared, but said it’s not expected to be until the afternoon at the earliest.
