ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A small amount of coal was spilled in a Rochester railroad yard Sunday after two train cars went off the tracks sometime before 6 p.m.

CSX Transportation spokeswoman Jane Covington said the two cars were not being pushed or pulled by a train when they derailed. The cause of the derailment is unknown and is under investigation.

Covington said one car tipped just enough to dump a wheelbarrow-size amount of coal on the ground, and the other car had a wheel pushed off the track.

Covington said she did not know the location of the rail yard.
