CLEVELAND, July 13 — The Colorado AFL-CIO joined 17 other state labor federations in condemning the use of remote control locomotives.
The state AFL-CIO Executive Committee passed the resolution unanimously on June 18, after a presentation by BLET Colorado State Legislative Board Chairman George Last.
Chairman Last thanked Colorado AFL-CIO President Steve Adams and Teamsters Local 17 for their support and encouragement.
In addition to Colorado, the following AFL-CIO State Federations have passed remote control resolutions: Arizona; Texas; Michigan; Nevada; North Carolina; Missouri; North Dakota; Nebraska; Wisconsin; Georgia; Illinois; Pennsylvania; Kentucky; Alabama; Iowa; West Virginia; and Utah.
Also, 58 communities throughout the United States have passed remote control safety resolutions.
