GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Representatives of Montana farmers gave a presentation on June 24 regarding proposed regulatory changes that could give farmers more say in shipping rates. They discussed legislative and regulatory changes to fight back against what they perceive to be unfair shipping rates set by freight railroads. They are also seeking to alter the makeup of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board to make it more shipper-friendly.
