WASHINGTON, D.C. — After almost a year of negotiations with members of Local 1035 in Hartford, Connecticut, Rogo, a Coors-Miller beer distributor, has locked out all the drivers.

The lockout, which began on February 18, was the culmination of a months-long battle with the employer over their threats to cut total compensation of the workers by almost 50 percent. Since then workers have been without pay or benefits, severely impacting their families.

“The contract they wanted us to accept was substandard,” said Chris Roos, principal officer of Local 1035.

A worker, Michael Royce, said, “It’s been one stalemate after another. My wife and I both work. We live paycheck to paycheck,” according to a Fox news report.

While the lockout continues, union members are asking their neighbors and members of the community in Hartford to boycott the brands distributed by Rogo as a sign support for the workers and their families.
