COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Nearly seven years ago, Union Pacific announced plans for a new railyard north of Mumford. At that time, what is now called the Brazos Yard was slated to have 1,000 construction workers. UP spokeswoman Kristen South now says the pace of construction work has slowed from having 300 contract employees to 90.
