DALLAS — North American Technologies Group, Inc. has awarded TieTek LLC, a contract to supply over 63,000 crossties for the Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line — Replacement Tie Project. TieTek uses patented technology to process recycled plastics, discarded tires, and other materials to manufacture engineered composite products that are a longer lasting and are an environmentally benign alternative to hardwood, concrete and steel in structural applications.

TieTek ties have been extensively tested by the Association of American Railroads, using rigorous testing and performance evaluation methods. The first delivery of railroad ties for Chicago Transit is expected to commence immediately deliveries are expected to continue through the fall of 2008, the intended completion of the project. Alex Rankin, NAMC’s Chief Executive Officer said, “The supply agreement for the Chicago Transit Authority’s Blue Line Project represents significant progress in confirming the value proposition of the company’s engineered composite ties for transit rail applications.” Reyes AJV will manage the project for the Chicago Transit Authority.
