MUNCIE, Ind. — Two hundred feet of eight-gauge copper was reported stolen from a CSX bungalow at 400 S. Lincoln Street on Saturday, according to police reports.
The lock was cut off of the bungalow by the thieves, a CSX employee told police.
Thefts of copper from homes, construction sites, businesses and utilities and rail yards have increased dramatically in recent years as the going rate for the metal has increased, local officials have reported.
