CALGARY — Canadian Pacific Railway has a tentative three-year labour agreement covering about 2,600 employees who maintain and repair locomotives and rail cars, the company and CAW-TCA Canada announced Thursday.

Ratification by the union membership, who belong to Local 101 of the Canadian Autoworkers Union, will be determined “over the next few months.”

The agreement, which extends to the end of 2007, provides for wage, benefits, work rule and productivity improvements.

Details were not being released pending ratification by the union.

CP Rail shares (TSX:CP) traded at $41.47, down three cents, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
