OTTAWA — Unifor, which represents about 1,800 maintenance and safety workers at CP Rail, gave the railway a strike notice late on February 11. A strike by Unifor members would go into effect at the same time as a possible strike by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) and its 3,300 locomotive engineers and conductors — just after midnight on Saturday, February 14.
