CALGARY – Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. has named U.S. railway executive Kathryn McQuade executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
Monday’s appointment follows last month’s announcement that Neal Foot, executive VP operations, is retiring after 35 years with the railroad.
McQuade, executive vice-president and chief information officer at Norfolk Southern Corp., joins CPR on June 1.
With 26 years of railway management experience, she will be responsible for leadership and integration of CPR’s train operations and information technology.
“The rail industry is becoming increasingly continental and Kathryn’s proven skills, her U.S. experience and strategic relationships are a strong complement to our experienced leadership team at CP,” stated Fred Green, president and chief executive officer.
“The insight she has gained from exposure to best practices at NS will add momentum to CP’s vision to becoming the safest and most fluid railway in North America.”
Reporting to McQuade will be Brock Winter, senior VP operations; Allen Borak, VP business information and technology; and Jonathan Legg, VP strategic sourcing.
