CALGARY — Canadian Pacific Railway reported an 8.7 per cent rise in its third-quarter adjusted profit on Wednesday, helped by strength in its intermodal unit. The country’s second-largest railroad operator said adjusted net income rose to $640 million, or $4.61 per share, in the third quarter ended Sept. 30 from $589 million, or $4.12 per share, a year earlier. It posted revenues of $1.98 billion, and diluted earnings per share up 3 per cent to $4.46.
