CALGARY — Canadian Pacific Railway and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) have extended their no strike/no lockout agreement while negotiations continue.
The agreement extension will last until Dec. 8 and the parties will continue to meet during this period in an effort to negotiate a mutually acceptable settlement.
The two sides reached a tentative five-year contract settlement for 4,500 locomotive engineers and conductors in early September. On Nov. 16, the members failed to ratify the Memorandum of Settlement by a slim margin of 51 votes.
The two sides reached a three-year deal back in June for about 3,200 maintenance workers, effectively ending a three-week strike at the time.
