BENSENVILLE, Ill. — At 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, Canadian Pacific Railway will conduct an emergency response exercise at its rail yard in Bensenville, Ill.
Canadian Pacific will work with local emergency response agencies and Onyx/Superior Special Services to practice public emergency response procedures.
Residents may hear sirens and see smoke and see emergency vehicles and media responding to the scene.
This exercise will involve representatives of CPR, government agencies, police, fire, ambulance, hospitals, the Salvation Army, emergency management and hazardous materials teams from several surrounding communities and several other groups.
The purpose of the drill is to test emergency responders’ ability to handle a crisis.
The drill is closed to the media.
