TORONTO — Superior service has earned the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) one of DaimlerChrysler Corporation’s top awards for transportation excellence for the third consecutive year.
The DaimlerChrysler Gold Award — earned by providing the highest quality in the day-to-day delivery of DaimlerChrysler’s parts and finished vehicles during 2001 — will be formally presented to the railway Dec. 5 in Windsor, Ont.
“The CPR has again achieved significant status among DaimlerChrysler’s logistics providers, winning their third consecutive Gold Award,” said DaimlerChrysler Director of Logistics Edward T. Sprock.
“CPR has demonstrated the ability to partner with us in pursuit of significant improvements in cost, quality and delivery time,” added Mr. Sprock. “They exemplify the Gold standard, adopting our critical success in speed, technology and consistency.”
CPR’s 14,000-mile network serves the principal centers of Canada from Montreal to Vancouver, and the U.S. Northeast and Midwest regions. CPR’s track feeds directly into the Chicago hub from the East and West coasts. Alliances with other carriers extend CPR’s market reach into the major business centers of Mexico.
