JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Emergency crews this morning were able to contain a chlorine leak at a private rail yard in South Kearny, police said.

The leak, which was reported shortly before 4 a.m. at the CSX rail site, was coming from a rail container, said Kearny Police Department Lt. Joe Lauer.

The cause was unknown and police did not know if there were any injuries.

“The public’s not affected,” Lauer said.
