PORTLAND, Ore. — Acrid smoke shrouded Sherwood on Monday evening as an infrequently used train trestle quickly burned along with the wetlands underneath, a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue spokeswoman said. The trestle, near Southwest Tualatin-Sherwood Road and Langer Farms Parkway, began to collapse around 6 p.m., Cassandra Ulven said. Four businesses to the east were evacuated.
