NORTH HUNTINGDON TWP., Pa. — Crews are responding to a train derailment late this afternoon in Westmoreland County in which more than 20 cars have left the tracks in North Huntingdon Township.
The DEP says two cars of the CSX train actually fell into the Youghiogheny River, but a spokesperson tells KDKA that one was empty and the other had plastic pellets inside — so there aren’t any leaks causing any environmental problems.
At this point, there is no word on any injuries.
