MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Two years after the July 2, 2015, train derailment in Maryville, CSX Transportation Inc. continues efforts to remove a toxic chemical from groundwater in the immediate area. To reduce concentrations of acrylonitrile, a chemical used to make plastics and other synthetic materials, a company working for CSX is pumping additional chemicals into injection wells.
